Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup butter

- 2/3 cup water
- 2 cups flour

- 1 teaspoon cloves
- Icing for filling and frosting

Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Add the eggs to the mixture, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour and baking powder.
5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the water. Begin and end with the flour mixture, mixing well after each addition.
6. Divide the batter into three equal parts.
7. In one of the parts, add the cinnamon and cloves and mix well.
8. Grease and flour three round cake tins.
9. Pour the plain batter into two of the tins, and the spiced batter into the remaining tin.
10. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
11. Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool completely on wire racks.
12. Once cooled, place one plain layer on a serving plate and spread a layer of icing on top.
13. Carefully place the spiced layer on top of the icing and spread another layer of icing on top.
14. Finally, place the second plain layer on top and frost the entire cake with the remaining icing.
15. Slice and serve the Ribbon Cake, enjoying the beautiful layers and flavors!

- 2 tablespoons butter
- 5 tablespoons sweet milk
